Video: The project to manufacture space hook TB to remove garbage in space
Airbus is building a space hook used to pull old satellites and bring them back to Earth's atmosphere for incineration. A miniature version will be tested in the "RemoveDEBRIS" task.
Simulate a giant garbage net.
Scientists will also test a giant grid to clear cosmic trash, and a sail can take cosmic garbage out of orbit.
Surrey Space Center is expected to perform RemoveDEBRIS this year with SpaceX missiles.
Airbus is also developing a larger version of the tuberculosis that can pull down the European Space Agency's (ESA) Envisat satellite. The satellite is about the same size as a bus, which stopped operating in 2012.
