Kuznetsov, Russia's most exclusive carrier

Although operating for 14 years, Admiral Kuznetsov has not stopped once because it is the only carrier of the Russian Navy.

Kuznetsov was built at the Nikolayev South shipyard on the Black Sea coast of Ukraine. This was launched in 1985, but it took only 10 years for Kuznetsov to officially launch.

Kuznetsov is the only aircraft carrier of the Russian Navy.

The second aircraft carrier was built in 1988 under the name Varyag. However, Varyag has never participated in the Russian Navy because the ship belongs to Ukraine in the "divorce" of the Black Sea fleet (between Russia and Ukraine). After that, Varyag was sold to China because it was not eligible to join the fight.

Airport and fighter system

The deck area covers an area of 14,700 m 2 , equipped with two push elevators to lift the aircraft from the cabin to the deck. Unlike other Western carriers, Kuznetsov does not use an aircraft launcher system. It operates on a 12-degree incline ramp at the end of the deck to create momentum for the aircraft to take off.

The aircraft on the Kuznetsov take off with a light air-to-air missile and leave the deck at speeds greater than the speed of failure (the speed at which the aircraft cannot reach, will fall into a state of loss balance, wings do not produce lift force that propels the plane up).

The lack of an aircraft launcher system has limited the weight of member aircraft. A fighter with full load will not achieve a speed beyond the speed of failure

The members of the aircraft carrier Kuznetsov include: 17 aircraft (12 Su-33s and 5 Su-25s), 24 helicopters (4 Kamov Ka-27LD32, 18 Kamov Ka-27PLO and 2 Kamov Ka-27S) .

Missile system attacks and protects

Kuznetsov is equipped with a Granit missile system with 12 ground-to-surface missile launchers. Granite rockets (NATO called SS-N-19 Shipwreck) have a range of more than 400 km and can carry nuclear warheads or normal warheads.

In addition, the Kuznetsov is equipped with a Klinok anti-aircraft missile system, with 24 launchers vertically and 192 missiles, protecting mother ships from anti-ship missiles, fighters and ships. battle. Each time the missile launch takes only three seconds, at the same time can shoot four targets.

System deployment range is from 12 to 15 km. Kashstan air defense missile system protects ships from precision weapons such as anti-ship missiles, anti-radar missiles, and fighter jets.

Kuznetsov is also equipped with a 60-rocket Udav-1 anti-submarine system. Udav-1, provided by Moscow's Splav Research and Production Association, can protect surface ships by diverting or destroying torpedoes that are heading to the ship. This system also helps Kuznetsov deal with submarines and underwater anti-break systems. Udav-1 has a total of 10 guns and is capable of firing 111SG anti-submarine rockets, 111SZ anti-ground mines and 111SO anti-torpedo bombs.

Kuznetsov's radars include D / E ground and aerial target radar, search radar F, G / H flight control radar, I-guided radar and four K-control radar for gun systems Aerial defense Kashstan.
