At 15:00 on February 24, an intense fire took place in Nam So commune (Than Than Uyen district, Lai Chau province). 20 rooftops of Mong ethnic people in Hua Little village, Nam Sau commune into coal.

Mr. Nguyen Van Luong, Vice Chairman of Than Uyen District said, Hua Little village is located 2 hours away from the district center and 80 km of inter-commune road. The whole village has 21 ground-roofed roofs with paintings of Mong people.

Therefore, when a fire occurred, the people in the village did not keep up their hands, the fire broke out violently, completely burned 20 of all 21 houses of the village, and all the assets in the family.

Because Hua Little village is located on a remote mountain, it is one of the most remote villages of Nam So commune, and there is no traffic so when the rescue force arrives, it is too late.

After the incident, Than Uyen district government instructed Nam So commune to organize a temporary house, provide medicine and food relief in the short term to quickly stabilize the life for the families in distress. .

Mr. Luong also said that leaders of Than Uyen district, mass organizations organized an emergency meeting, and on the morning of February 25, the delegation would come to the scene to solve the consequences of the fire.

Earlier, at 22:00 on February 18 (the second day of Dinh Hoi's festival), fire also broke out in Little Chom village of Ta Mit commune (Than Uyen district), burning 5 stilt houses, 2 kitchens of 7 households in total. 60 households live in the village. This location is located 40 km from the district center and a half day walk.

Due to difficult communication and transportation conditions, moreover, it happened on the Tet holiday, so until February 21, the district authorities and the new authorities organized to overcome the consequences.

The cause of the fire was determined by a negligent family in using fire to cook. Currently, the People's Committee of Than Uyen District, the Red Cross Association and local authorities have organized support for each family to suffer VND 1.7 million, food and some essential household tools. The district government has developed a plan to support the rebuilding of victims with the capital of Program 134.

From August 2006 until now, the weather situation in Lai Chau province is very harsh, prolonged drought with the use of fire in reckless activities and burning, so the whole province has happened. 4 house fires and upland fields of Than Uyen, Phong Tho and Sin Ho districts were made. Over 10 forest fires and bare hills including scattered vegetation and trees. Lai Chau provincial government has implemented very drastic measures, but many fires continue to occur, especially in remote areas, so sending forces to rescue is almost ineffective. fruit.
