Lake Namtso (Namu) - Lake in the sky
Lake Namtso is located on China's Qing Tibetan plateau, an area of 1,940 km 2 . Lake Namtso is at an altitude of 4,718m above the sea surface, thus being considered the highest saltwater lake in the world. It is also higher than the world's highest freshwater lake, Lake Titicaca in South America, over 900m. The Tibetans there called the lake Namuchua, the H'Mong in this region called Thùycòlihai with the meaning of "Hồ trời", "Biển trời". In the world there is also a higher lake, but very small area.
Lake Namtso is located north of Lhasa city. The shores of the lake are lush, year-round can graze cattle. The lake water is transparent and can be seen on the bottom, the fish here are small size fish and the fish is not very fat and delicious.
