Li explained the phenomenon of fire rainbow

Rainbow fire appeared in the sky with many outstanding colors, but only observed in certain areas.

Why there is a fire rainbow phenomenon

The rainbow fire (Circumhorizontal arc) is a colorful halo that appears across the sky, also known as circumhorizontal arc . When seen in the sky, this colorful halo looks almost like a rainbow. However, it only appears in cirrus clouds and at certain latitudes.

According to the Mother Nature Network, this optical phenomenon formed from refraction of sunlight , sometimes the Moon , through ice crystals suspended in the air. The Sun must then be in a very high position, about 58 degrees above the horizon or higher.

On Earth , a fire rainbow cannot appear on the north side of the 55th parallel north and south of the 55 degree south latitude. For those who live near the extreme, observing this phenomenon is impossible.
