Rare 'rainbow fire' rare
The so-called 'fire rainbow' is in fact not fire or rainbow, but the iridescent cloud. This phenomenon appeared in South Florida (USA) on August 1.
The five-color cloud scene has just appeared in America.
The US aerospace agency (NASA) explained that iridescent clouds are a relatively rare phenomenon, occurring when clouds carry many droplets of almost uniform size. These clouds diffuse or bend light in a similar way, causing light to follow different wavelengths, or colors.
Therefore, iridescent clouds have a rainbow-like color - created by diffraction, and also create a wide range of colors, including blue, green, red, purple and green.
These five colors are similar in color to a rainbow, but the way to create iridescent clouds and rainbows varies. Rainbows are formed by refraction or reflection.
Like other iridescent objects, like rooster feathers, the color of the iridescent clouds varies depending on the angle of view.
