Life on Earth suffered from a temperature of 75 degrees Celsius

The Earth's surface during the first life development period can be as hot as 75 degrees Celsius before falling to 35 degrees.

In a study published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, scientists at the University of California, Los Angeles, USA, claim that the Earth's surface is about 3 billion years ago , when the first life form appeared, hot. to 75 degrees C , according to Livescience. The temperature only dropped to 35 degrees Celsius about 420 million years ago.

To find out the temperature of the Earth at the beginning, biologist Amanda Garcia and his colleague "revived" ancient enzymes by studying the enzyme called NDK . These types of proteins exist almost in every living organism, most likely in extinct organisms.

By comparing many molecular sequences of the NDK forms of many species today, researchers recreate NDK versions that may have been present in their common ancestors.

From these ancient enzyme versions, scientists were able to determine the ambient temperature when the early form of life was formed. Previous research found that the correlation between temperature helps maintain the stability of proteins with the development of living organisms.

Garcia chose the NDK regeneration of terrestrial plants and photosynthetic bacteria living on the ocean floor with the sun to eliminate the possibility that organizations living near the heat environment falsify research results.

"We need to understand not only the initial evolution of life on Earth, but also the evolution of life and the Earth's environment for billions of years ago , " Garcia said. "Because that seems to be the way for life to grow elsewhere in the universe."

Scientists previously said geological evidence indicates 3.5 billion years ago, the oceans on Earth have temperatures between 55 and 85 degrees C, then cool down to an average temperature of 15 degrees Celsius as of day. now on.
