Light up with solar power technology

After more than 3 years of implementing the experiment, the project "Research and application of solar power technology to serve electricity for specific areas and livestock farms in Ninh Thuan province" by the Information and Application Center The Ministry of Science and Technology of Ninh Thuan province cooperated with the Institute of Physics of Ho Chi Minh City to carry out the efficiency quite clearly, bringing a light source for people in many places in the province.

Due to being located far away from the residential area and without a passing power grid, 10 households of Raglai ethnic group in Suoi Kho village, Phuoc Chinh commune, highland district of Bac Ai (Ninh Thuan) had to use kerosene lamps.

Ninh Thuan Center for Information and Application of Scientific and Technological Progress has installed solar power system with a capacity of 550wp for 10 households (55wp / household). Since then, the life of Raglai ethnic people here has changed dramatically. Mr. Patauxa Bien - Head of Suoi Kho village excitedly bragged: Previously, we only knew that the oil lamp had solar power coming back, every morning it would be full of light, watching TV, listening to the radio . very happy!

The project also installs solar power system at some specific farms and areas. Currently, the project is installing experimental solar power system at other points such as coral protection station and signal protection lamp for sea turtles belonging to Nui Chua National Park with a capacity of 180wp; The breeding farm of Mr. Dau Van Go in Deo Cau village, My Son commune, Ninh Son district with a capacity of 240wp and the Center for information and application of provincial science and technology with a capacity of 1,000wp. After 3 years, the experimental sites are still working well and effectively serving for living and production.

According to the plan, by 2020, Ninh Thuan will strive to meet the lighting power supply for 80% of households in rural areas and 60% of households in mountainous areas.

The remaining households in remote areas and areas with many difficulties in the province do not have electricity and still have to live in the oil lamp scene. Promoting the unique advantage of a "lack of rain and sunshine" province , with a total of 55 kwh / m2 / day, the highest type of water in the country; To exploit that potential, research and introduction of solar power in the province is very necessary and practical.

Currently Ninh Thuan province is also applying solar electric energy in some other localities such as Hai Dang Mui Dinh station; Ninh Chu port embankment . but with very small capacity, only from 50wp to 60wp - not commensurate with the potential of the province as today.

In the context of energy shortage and environmental pollution, climate change, the use of renewable energy is essential. Therefore, in the long term, Ninh Thuan province also needs to develop a truly scientific plan to invest in research and application of solar electricity technology in order to effectively exploit the potential of the sun to serve production and birth. activities for people living in disadvantaged areas.
