Operating the world's largest solar power plant
In an effort to promote the use of clean fuels to protect the Earth from the negative impacts of climate change, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on March 17 officially operated the power plant. The largest sun in the world, named Shams 1.
During the inauguration ceremony, the chairman of the UAE Masdar Group, Sultan al-Jaber, said that with a total budget of $ 600 million, the plant could supply 20,000 households.

Despite being a country with huge oil reserves, the UAE still aims to 2020, renewable energy will provide 7% of the country's electricity demand.
Currently, solar power plants around the world mainly use photovoltaic technology to produce electricity.
With a capacity of 100MW, the Shams 1 plant accounts for 10% of the world's total solar energy output.
