The decision was made after the Institute of Medicine (IOM) made the final conclusion, most studies using chimpanzees are not necessary.

Francis S Collins, head of the National Institutes of Health Research, said: 'The US has benefited a lot from providing chimpanzees in medical research, but with new scientific and technological methods. tectonics and use in research are mostly unnecessary to chimpanzees ".

After extensive review, experts believe that minimizing chimpanzee use in biomedical and scientific studies is a must. Only a small amount of chimpanzees are kept for some really needed research.

Researchers are trying to prove the psychological and physical harms to chimpanzees will lead to inaccurate research results. A complete ban on the use of chimpanzees in scientific and medical research is required.
