Looking at mirrors can predict the disease

Researchers are developing a smart mirror that can detect signs of disease on the user's face.

Smart mirror for face diagnosis

New Scientist reported on July 27, Wize Mirro r was like a normal mirror, but integrated 3D scanner, multi-spectral camera and gas sensor device to assess the health of users. Wise Mirror does this by checking the person's face, examining the fat tissue, expression as well as the pinkness or re-greening on the face.

Face recognition software will look for signs of stress or anxiety, while gas sensors sample the user's breath and filter out ingredients that show their alcohol or drug content. used.

3D scanner analyzes the face shape to detect weight gain or weight loss, and the spectrophotometer camera can estimate heart rate or hemoglobin concentration.

After the software analyzes the face for about a minute, the mirror will give a rating of how healthy the user is. It also displays tips on how to improve that person's health.

Wize Mirror is being developed by a group of researchers and industry partners from 7 countries with funding from the European Union.

Sara Colantonio and colleagues from Italy's National Research Council, project participants, want to be able to use Wize Mirror to solve common long-term health problems such as heart disease or kidney disease.

Clinical trials will begin next year in three regions in France and Italy, to compare the diagnosis of Wize Mirror with traditional medical devices .
