Low-fat chocolate made from seaweed

Scientists at the University of Warwick (UK) have found a way to make a new type of low-fat chocolate called "choco-lite" that retains a distinctly rich flavor. This type of chocolate does not cause weight gain because its ingredients are a jelly made from seaweed.

Previously, the team's effort was to reduce the fat content of chocolate (normally 30%) while maintaining the structure and flavor that had completely failed. Realizing that seaweed jelly jelly contains up to 80% fiber - a natural appetite suppressant, experts have recently come up with the idea of creating chocolate from this special ingredient.

According to them, countless tiny bubbles in jelly jelly will make the chocolate bar lighter, contain less fat although the size is equivalent to that of regular chocolate. In terms of taste, experts claim to be "very delicious". However, the limitation of making chocolate is bubble foam will make this dish less crispy and sometimes appear white spots on the finished chocolate.

According to Dr. Stefan Bon, a member of the research team, bubble foam is very small so it is difficult for users to distinguish choco-lite from regular chocolate. On the other hand, made from fiber-rich ingredients, seaweed-made chocolates make us more saturated than other high-fat chocolates.
