There are about 250 individual upturned snub-nosed monkeys in the world. In Vietnam, this langur is only known from two provinces, Tuyen Quang (discovered in the early 90s) and Ha Giang (discovered 2002 in Khau Ca forest area).

However, 'the most difficult issue is still the recovery of depleted forest land in the reserve to expand the habitat for the douc population. Especially the close cooperation between local ethnic communities and the technical support of international experts ' - A representative of the reserve management board said.

Currently in the world there are only 4 species of Tonkin snub-nosed monkeys, of which 3 are in China and 1 is in our country.
