Mr. Pham Van Tac - Director of Bac Lieu Provincial Museum said, the excavation of the underground surrounding the oldest tower in the Mekong Delta was carried out by the museum and the Center for Archaeological Research after a month of work. positive work.
Digging up to 2m of soil, the researchers found some valuable antiques such as a compacted brick floor forming a wide surface about 25m 2 . According to archaeologists, residents at that time may have used this tile floor as a yard to carry out the work of religious beliefs of the resident community at that time.
A footprint was also discovered during this excavation at Vinh Hung ancient tower. This may be a brick pillar of a building structure made of light materials such as wooden columns. This architecture is a waiting house with a quite large space for the community of the time to wait for religious activities.
Precious stone relics, unique bronze were also taken up at a depth of nearly 2m. Two very beautiful small stone samples were also discovered with some other precious antiques but could not be published because they must comply with the Heritage Law.

Removing Vinh Hung's neck near Vinh Hung market of Vinh Loi district, Bac Lieu is the only ancient architectural monument with the appearance of the architecture of the Ang Ko period of Khmer people, also preserved in the Mekong Delta.

Vinh Hung Tower is built on a promontory, rectangular tower base, an edge of 5.6 m long; the other side is 6.9 m long, 8.9 m high built with bricks that fit together but does not see adhesive mortar.
