MasterCard credit card with fingerprint sensor
Zwip MasterCard credit card is a collaboration between MasterCard and Zwipe. Zwipe is well known in the field of biometrics and fingerprint sensors based in Norway.
High Tech Credit Cards
To use this credit card, the first thing to do is place your finger on the integrated fingerprint sensor on the front of the card. Then pass the card through the payment device (with NFC connection) to collect cardholder data and pay for the item.
Of course, users need to verify their fingerprints at the first use before proceeding with the payment procedure. With the launch of the Zwip MasterCard , entering PINs every time a bank card is used becomes futile and unnecessary.
Previous trial versions are still quite inconvenient when using batteries to provide power.
According to the manufacturer, the cardholder's data will be stored in the security department of the card and not sent to MasterCard's data system. This will bring peace of mind to users and also help to limit the problem if the MasterCard database was hacked by hackers.
The Zwipe MasterCard is expected to be officially released in 2015. Prior to that, the first test version of this card was launched in Norway. However, its disadvantage is that it still uses batteries to provide power. According to Zwipe, the commercial version of Zwipe MasterCard will use energy from RF waves (emitted by payment devices), so it will be lightweight and user-friendly.
