Matsushita opened a software research center in Vietnam

The Japanese electronics giant has said it will build a research center in Vietnam to develop key software for mobile phones and flat-screen TVs.

Matsushita Electric Industrial is currently the owner of Panasonic electronic brand. As expected, Panasonic R&D Center Vietnam will officially go into operation from the end of April in Hanoi.

With an initial investment of about $ 500,000, the center will develop and design system chips and control software for Matsushita's factory network around the world.

This will be the 3rd research and development center in Matsushita's ASEAN region, after two centers in Singapore and Malaysia.

Like many other electronic giants in Japan, Matsushita is actively moving product research and development work to developing countries to reduce labor costs and lower product costs. As planned, Panasonic Center Hanoi will expand to 200 employees in the near future.

In an effort to attract newly graduated Vietnamese engineers, Matsushita said they will send Japanese experts to train and open a course on software development at Hanoi University of Technology.
