Picture 1 of Microsoft fixes the Excel vulnerability, Adobe fixes Flash errors Microsoft has released a patch for six "serious" Office security holes, including five Excel errors, and a Windows problem. At the same time, they also recommend users to install Adobe Systems' Flash Player update.

Some of the Excel spreadsheet vulnerabilities may allow an attacker to control the entire system. However, bad guys will have to trick users into opening an Excel file containing dangerous code. The sixth error affects a range of Office applications, including versions of Word, Outlook and PowerPoint. Microsoft has fixed these problems in patch MS06-012.

The second upgrade, MS06-011, addresses a problem with Windows XP Service Pack 1 and Windows Server 2003. This error may allow a person with limited access to gain control. admin (admin).

Windows vulnerabilities and two of the above Excel errors have been publicized before, but Microsoft claims they have not recorded any exploitation cases.

In addition to the recurring patch, the US software group also warned people about the problem in Macromedia Flash Player - Adobe Systems' third-party application, which Microsoft distributed with the Windows product package.

Adobe Systems acknowledges that errors in the Flash program will allow hackers to control remote computers, if users accidentally upload a dangerous file in SWF format into the system.
