Picture 1 of Microsoft fixes 10 errors in Internet Explorer The US software group has released 5 security bulletins to patch 14 program errors. Among these, the createTextRange vulnerability has been exploited by hackers to install spyware and keyloggers (software that detects characters entered from the keyboard) into a user's computer.

The MS06-013 newsletter, fixed 10 IE 5.x and 6.x errors, including 7 "serious" vulnerabilities. The most notable is the createTextRange error, discovered three weeks ago and quickly spread on more than 200 websites. The delay in releasing an upgrade made many third-party companies have to fix the Microsoft "household" browser. According to eEye Digital Security, about 156,000 users downloaded their temporary patch in less than two weeks.

Meanwhile, the update MS06-015 solves the serious problem when Windows XP operating system handles the folders themselves, and MS06-014 removes Windows MDAC related problems (Microsoft Data Access Component ), the element used when accessing SQL databases. Both of these vulnerabilities can be exploited by hackers to control the entire system if they trick users into opening attachments or visiting malicious sites.

Microsoft also fixes "critical" bugs in Outlook Express (MS06-016) free e-mail system. In addition, the software company launched MS06-017 to fix the "average" vulnerability of the FrontPage web design application in Microsoft Office.

Most of the issues in the 5 newsletters are rated "serious", so users will need to update the patch as soon as possible.
