Microsoft launches mobile web browser
Microsoft yesterday (March 29) introduced a prototype of a mobile web browser designed with the goal of bringing a simple browsing experience from PC to mobile users.
" Today's mobile browsing is often not intuitive. The website displayed is often not the same as what users usually see on a desktop PC. The time to download a website is also very long. Deepfish's browser we will solve those problems , "said Gary William Flake, director of Microsoft Live Labs.
Instead of relying on websites redesigned specifically for mobile devices, Deepfish browser downloads and displays the same website as displayed on the PC screen. Users can enlarge or shrink each part of the website.
" Our goal is to simplify and speed up the browsing of a website ," said Flake director.
Deepfish trial version launched with the goal of testing user response. Microsoft has not yet decided whether to release the official version of this mobile web browser.
The number of participants in Deepfish browser test will be limited and selected according to the principle "whoever comes first is selected". Users can find out and download the trial version at http://labs.live.com/deepfish/.
