Microsoft patched zero-day errors for Vista
Correctly scheduled by Microsoft yesterday (April 10) released a monthly security update to fix security holes in its application software.
April security update includes 5 major patches that fix a total of 8 security flaws in Microsoft products. Among these errors is an extremely dangerous zero-day error in the Windows operating system. Even Vista has that zero-day error.
Of the four major Windows patches, three were classified as "extremely dangerous" - the highest level in the Microsoft rating of vulnerabilities. The other version is ranked one level lower.
This zero-day error in the corrected Windows operating system this time was discovered in December last year. The first step when discovering security experts said that this error is not dangerous because it can only be exploited if hackers have direct access to the system that makes a mistake.
However, Microsoft said that the bug could be compromised if a user accessed a malicious website with a exploit code. Consequently, hackers will gain full control of the system that makes a mistake.
The above zero-day error also exists in the latest operating system version of Vista. Microsoft recommends that all users should quickly install this patch as soon as possible.
Another major bug that was fixed during this phase was a Microsoft Agent error on Windows 2000 and Windows Server 2003 versions. This error can also be exploited by tricking users into accessing a malicious website. .
Windows XP this time also got a bit of a "plug-and-play" feature. This error can be exploited without any interaction from the user. However, in order to be able to attack, hackers must share a network with a system that makes a mistake. Successful hackers can disable the firewall on the target system.
The fifth major patch fixes two security flaws in Content Management Server. Among these, there is an error classified as extremely dangerous. If successfully exploited, hackers can gain control of websites on the server.
Microsoft recommends that users should quickly download and install the necessary patches as soon as possible.
