Microsoft 'wrong' 'Gmail is ... virus
Although the popularity of Gmail is quite limited, but certainly, this e-amil software is not a virus, despite Microsoft's warning.
From the end of last week until last night, Microsoft's Windows Live OneCare security software did not understand whether it was "a risk" for intentionally or intentionally labeling the Google Gmail service. Every time a OneCare user accesses the Gmail website, it's like that, a warning window pops up, notifying that the computer has been infected with a virus called " BAT / BWG.A ".
Source: windowsonecare The Microsoft side argued that this was just an "accidental error" of antivirus software, and soon after they learned of the incident, they started working on troubleshooting.
Everything happened last week, when Google made some minor changes to the Gmail website. Google has not yet made any comments.
Occasionally, such errors can occur with security software. For example, earlier this year, McAfee's security tool mistook Microsoft Excel and many other legitimate applications within a user's computer as a virus. Similarly, Symantec also called a British church software . spyware spy software.
Windows Live OneCare is Microsoft's first user antivirus product, officially released last May. However, what happens with Gmail is not the first problem with this software. During the testing process, OneCare once disabled Computrace Lojack, an application that retrieves a laptop when it is lost or stolen.
