'Monkey athlete' raises rocks to break particles

In the forest of Cerrado (Brazil), the Cebus libidinosus monkeys have the skill to raise the stone to break palm particles proficiently.

Fragaszy gave them hard palm stones that cannot be separated by hand. However, they did not give up, using both hands to lift the big stone to their heads and smash down the palm nuts with an extraordinary power, so they also got the nickname of 'monkey athlete'.

Most Cebus libidinosus monkeys in the Cerrado forest know how to use the tool, they perform every day and throughout the year.

The way they do is also scientific, choose the type of quartz stone in the area as a hammer, choose a large log or a large stone to make an anvil. When there are enough supplies then put the palm nuts on the anvil.

Hardworking diligence is also a tradition in the herd life of Cebus libidinosus monkeys, even when they were monkeys they have tried to learn 'adults' how to separate seed pods, one in The herd will make the others in the herd follow and gradually they succeed.
