Motorcycle fire and explosion: The reason may be due to electric shock

A series of motorcycle fires that took place in early December are causing many people to panic because of the frequency of dizziness. People began to talk to each other that, now out of the house, people who are careful sometimes have to bring a fire extinguisher with them because they don't know when to catch fire.

That being said, it is clear that there are many concerns about seemingly harmless and extremely familiar objects for every person like a motorbike.

From the perspective of experts, Dr. Le Hong Quan, Dean of the Department of Automotive Technology, Hanoi University of Industry said that the phenomenon of continuous fire and explosion occurred in recent years may be due to short-circuiting.

Mr. Quan also said that there are many reasons that could lead to electric shock. However, the main reason is often a combination of two factors, namely gas leakage and quality of wire in poor cars.

Regarding the gas leak phenomenon, Dr. Le Hong Quan judged that this is not a rare thing in motorcycles and cars. Almost every car can suffer from this condition.

However, more importantly, Mr. Quan said that the wires in many cars do not meet the safety standards are the main cause. This is the cause of electric spark.

To be more specific, Mr. Quan said that for the wire to not cause sparks, the most important thing is the wire shell. Wire shells used in motorbikes and cars must ensure quality, must be able to withstand impact and not be corroded by petrol and oil.

Looking back at the car fires, Mr. Quan said that if these were genuine cars, the quality of the wires would be guaranteed. However, after a period of use that these seemingly harmless accessories are not taken care of, the failure is inevitable.

With his experience, Mr. Quan also pointed out, arbitrarily fixing cars in many shops along the way while the workmen 's team is nowhere like any place that makes the car unknowingly become the "slow explosive bomb".

'As long as the electrical wire casing is flabby, the spark of electricity comes into contact with gasoline or even just gas, the fire will immediately flare up. Fire and explosion are inevitable , " Quan said.

In this view, Mr. Do Huu Duc, Deputy Director of Vietnam Register, said that there are many different causes that could lead to fire and explosion. As for the Register Department, due to the lack of access to the burnt vehicles, it is impossible to find out exactly the cause of the car fire.

However, according to Duc, the car repair is directly related to the safety of the motorbike as well as the person sitting on the car participating in traffic. Meanwhile, in our country, anyone can open maintenance shop, repair cars and motorcycles. This is also a potential cause that easily leads to accidents and vehicle fires when participating in traffic.

Regarding supervision with motorbike manufacturing and assembling enterprises, Mr. Duc said, Vietnam Register will issue certificates for models and types of vehicles based on model cars that have been tested, tested and fully meet the requirements of technical safety and environmental protection.

'After being granted a Certificate, the production facility is allowed to install, self-test and market the same type of mass production vehicles and is responsible for maintaining the quality so that the vehicles produce goods. true series with sample cars have been tested, certified , " Mr. Duc said.

However, the representative of Vietnam Register Department said that during the process of using, in most countries in the world such as EU, USA, Japan, China, Singapore ., motorcycles are strictly managed. and periodic technical safety inspections. In Vietnam, there are still many different opinions on this issue so the periodic technical inspection is not possible.

'Perhaps after a series of motorcycle fires in the past, we need to think more about this issue,' said Mr. Do Huu Duc.
