My mother has H1N1 flu, my baby is dead easily

Babies born to mothers infected with the H1N1 flu virus during pregnancy face the risk of dying shortly after birth or premature birth, according to the latest study by British scientists.

Scientists at Oxford University tested all pregnant women hospitalized with H1N1 infection from September 2009 to January 2010. As a result, of the 256 mothers infected with the flu, 7 babies were born prematurely, 3 died shortly after birth. This is equivalent to 39 children who died shortly before or after birth in 1000 H1N1 infected mothers, 5 times higher than non-infected mothers of 7 in 1000.

'The only effective way to prevent risks for yourself and your unborn child is to vaccinate , ' said Dr. Marian Knight, who led the study.

However, data from the Health Protection Agency show that the proportion of pregnant women in the UK who get the flu shot is very low because most women do not think H1N1 could endanger their children. Half of pregnant women are at risk of becoming infected with H1N1 and only 30.6% are vaccinated.

Research has shown the serious harm of the H1N1 flu virus to unborn babies due to complications that their mothers may get if they become infected during pregnancy.

According to scientists, at any stage of pregnancy, mothers can get a flu shot. Not only can the vaccine protect babies during the first few months after birth.
