MySpace.com will be the future of the Internet?

Social networks, mobile videos and "Googleization" will continue to change the network in the coming years.

Picture 1 of MySpace.com will be the future of the Internet? Researchers at the investment firm Piper Jaffray made such assertions during the opening of the Global Internet Summit.

"The Google revolution" - also known by the phrase "Googleization" - has not ended, said Safa Rashtchy, executive director and senior analyst at Piper Jaffray. Google is the driving force behind the establishment of many new companies and also changing the way in which many other companies are founded today.

Global Internet Summit opened yesterday (June 12). This is the second year this conference is held. This year, the conference focused on issues such as online entertainment and advertising, international markets and social networking systems.

For example, social networking systems, Rashtchy said, will contribute to forming the Internet in the future, although there is still some skepticism about how to generate profits for these networks.

Social networks like MySpace.com are currently a challenge for traditional electronic portals. MySpace has surpassed MSN and AOL if considering the number of visits to the site in a month. The number of visitors to this site is equivalent to 75% of Yahoo's statistics.

James Lamberti, a researcher at ComScore, was also surprised by MySpace's rapid growth. In March alone, this site attracted more than 59 million visitors. "Google has never had such a growth rate."

Development opportunities in the market are appropriate for social networking communities targeting young or middle-aged people.
