Mysterious blue crescent in eclipse photo
The blue crescent shape appears in many photographs of the total eclipse of August 21 in the United States.
The total eclipse of "one hundred years has one" yesterday occurred in the United States in the excitement of millions of people. During the total solar eclipse, many witnesses tried to point the camera and smartphone to the sky to capture one of the most remarkable astronomical phenomena this year.

The strange thing is that in many eclipse photographs recorded by eyewitnesses there appears a mysterious little blue crescent, according to Business Insider.

According to experts, this blue crescent fantasy phenomenon appears due to the "Lens Flare" effect of cameras and smartphones. This effect occurs when the camera is shooting under strong light conditions, causing the lens to reflect part of the light.
Photos taken with smartphones and regular cameras cannot capture sharp images of solar eclipses, images of the Sun are dazzled by intense light intensity.

The "Lens Flare" effect usually appears as a circle or small dots. However, when the solar eclipse occurred, the Sun was partially obscured by the Moon, the intensity of light was also weaker, causing blue crescent images to appear on digital images.
