NASA: New evidence of water on Mars
Scientists from the US Aeronautics Agency (NASA) say they have found evidence that there is water in the trenches flowing on the surface of Mars.
According to the researchers, the change in the shape of these trenches over the past 7 years shows a recent flow of water on the Red planet.
Researcher Kenneth Edgett and his colleagues used images taken by NASA's Mars probe to study areas with trenches, depressions on Mars's surface - discovered in 2000. .
They found that there were many bright colored ' mud ' layers, not formed from landslides and possibly due to freezing. This may be evidence of recent water flow on Mars. Detailed analysis of this evidence will be published in Science this week.
