The United Nations estimates that the world needs between 200 and 210 billion USD to maintain the current level of greenhouse gas levels until 2030.

At a UN conference on climate change (UNFCCC) taking place in Vienna (Austria) from August 29 to 31, delegates said this means 0.3-0.5% of total products. National (GDP) and 1.1-1.7% of investment in the world need to be devoted to fighting against climate change.

The conference said that investment in clean energy should be increased, the transportation system should be improved, ensuring industries reduce harmful emissions, plant forests and manage forest exploitation.

Under the Kyoto Protocol, industrialized countries investing in developing countries must also reduce greenhouse gas concentrations. In addition, the UNFCCC conference also "requires uniform standards (at a global level) to avoid unfair competition that harms environmentally sensitive societies and countries."

The Vienna Conference brings together thousands of experts, government representatives, industry representatives, scientific communities and environmental activists to talk about maintaining commitments to fight climate change. after 2012, the year when the Kyoto Protocol will expire. The conference also aims to prepare for the meeting of state leaders of 191 countries and territories of UNFCC members to take place in Bali, Indonesia, from December 3 to 14.
