New American spacecraft resembles flying saucers

The American people have just admired the new spacecraft designed to bring astronauts to Mars in the future, and instead of NASA's shuttle generation.

Orion, the name of the explorer ship, will replace all types of spacecraft that the US Space Agency (NASA) is using. It will be the pillar of the mission to explore the moon, Mars and many other planets. Orion is on display at National Mall in Washington, DC on March 30.

NASA wants to use Orion to bring astronauts to the International Space Station before 2015, then it will fly to the moon (in 2020) and Mars (after 2030).

Orion's design is based on Apollo - the first spacecraft to bring Americans to the moon before. Despite their relatively similar shape, Orion is larger in size and can carry 6 astronauts. The total weight of this vessel is 8 tons.

Orion's main mission is to bring people to Mars. However, a trip to the red planet will take at least 3 years, including 6 to 9 months to get there and take about that time to return to earth, the remaining time to wait for a reasonable time for the return.

NASA scientists believe that their current technologies cannot guarantee the adventures of up to 3 years. So Orion will make many flights to the moon, which only takes three days. Each flight will last 6 months for astronauts to set up camps and practice the operations they want to perform on Mars.

On April 6, NASA will drop Orion into Florida waters tested by a specialized ship salvaging the rocket's stratosphere during satellite launches. The devices inside the spacecraft will measure the acceleration and tilt that astronauts will face when the spacecraft falls into the sea.
