President of American software corporation Bill Gates wants people to feel more comfortable when using computers, so improving reading material displayed on the screen is one of his top five priorities. Since early 2006, Microsoft has announced that it will ship operating systems and other software products with six print kits designed specifically for documents written on computers.

Experts who developed the MS Office office application package favored a sanserif style like Calibri and chose it as the default font in Office 2007 instead of Times New Roman.

Calibri has soft rounded corners and brings a feeling of lightness, closer to fonts like Arial or Helvetica. Lucas de Groot, Calibri design expert, commented: " This font's symmetry is well-suited in e-mail, web design, magazines and general documents, albeit in small sizes - small. or in normal print, bold or italic ".

Of the five remaining fonts, Cambria looks quite sturdy and strong, but the font of Candara does not feel flexible, and Consolas is like a Courier, mainly used in programming environments to help professionals. Eye strain relief.

Meanwhile, Constantina is appreciated by sophistication and clarity. " Until now, people were often unhappy to use the same typeface to read on screen and print it out. Constantia will eliminate that disadvantage, " said designer John Hudson. The final font of the six new typefaces - Corbel - is described by expert Jeremy Tankard as " unruly, very clear, decisive " and promises to be the perfect replacement for Arial, Trebuchet or Verdana.
