New materials have the ability to regulate temperature

Researchers at the University of Nottingham in Ningpo, China, have created a new type of heat-sensitive material that can cut heating and cooling costs for buildings.

The new material, called PCM, is not deformed, capable of absorbing excess heat if the temperature is too high and releasing heat as the temperature goes down.

The size and shape of the new material is very diverse, capable of storing more energy and reacting to heat faster than existing materials while producing cheaper prices.

The material is made in the laboratory, which looks like a circular tablet with the perimeter of a large coin, however it can be produced in many shapes and sizes for use in any from the wall or the roof.

Scientists believe that PCM can save 35% of energy for buildings, improve the efficiency of solar panels, and illuminate the LEDs.

Now scientists are looking for superior materials and trying to commercialize the product.
