Nine months of conception of the boy Roboy

Scientists at the Artificial Lab (AI Lab) at the University of Zurich are hatching a plan to build a physique robot similar to a walking boy.

This robot called Roboy is claimed to be more friendly and lovely than any previous robot model. Capturing the psychology of users who do not want a robot full of steel to walk in the house, scientists of AI Lab have used the "soft robot" technology to build Roboy. This technology will simulate the human body and "cover" this 1.2-meter tall "Roboy boy" body. With this technology, AI Lab believes that Roboy's owner will be very comfortable in everyday communication with this robot.

However, at the present time, the design models show that Roboy does not quite have a lovely appearance. In fact, one can feel the look of Roboy like a half-man character or appearing in fictional movies, not a good boy. However, the process of making this machine is still continuing and the designers will definitely make the appropriate changes to the more lovely Roboy boy.

It is quite interesting that the time to complete this Roboy boy will be nine months, the equivalent of a mother's pregnancy to look forward to the birth of a lovely boy.

The Roboy manufacturing process began in June last year with 15 project members and 40 engineers and scientists.

These members contributed both in scientific expertise as well as raising funds through sponsorship and auctioning of positions on the Roboy boy's logo.

In fact, Roboy was built based on an earlier project of the AI Lab with the product being a ferocious robot named Eccerobot.

With mainly plastic materials, Roboy is designed to simulate a human body system with high aesthetics. Instead of using motors moving at joints, Roboy uses synthetic motors that pull rubber cables, so the system works in a way similar to the human muscle and ligament system. .

The AI Lab asserts that this system will help Roby move in much the same way as any other generation of robots.

In the near future, scientists of this project will research and develop new technologies for Roboy's "eye" system, which will use 3D technology.

"Referendum" selected the face for Roboy

The purpose of the Roboy project is to increase approval for services that use robots by increasing the friendliness of robots when they are around people.

Currently, Roboy is in the process of being cleverly selected through a "referendum" on Facebook.

In terms of fabrication, Roboy is now able to move his arms and will soon be covered with soft skin. It is expected that Roboy will first appear before the "public" in the exhibition called 'Robots on Tour' on March 9, 2013 on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of AI Lab.
