Not only producing AK guns, the Kalashikov company also makes drones and anti-terrorist guns

The gun has a 'range of fire' up to 2 km and targets can be robot-drones operating in the air, on water or on the ground.

The company 'Kalashnikov' presented to the public the REX 1 gun with the ability to shoot down unmanned aerial vehicles, jam and suppress mobile and Wi-Fi waves. Interestingly, Kalashnikov will market both military and civilian versions.

The developers say their weapon can be used for multiple purposes: ordinary people will use it to protect personal privacy in everyday life, and when issued to the armed forces then it will come into play at big events.

The gun has a 'range of fire' up to 2 km and targets can be robot-drones operating in the air, on water or on the ground. When shot with this gun, no matter how 'stubborn' the drone will have to obediently land or stop working.

How does it work?

Like conventional infantry weapons, the REX 1 is also equipped with an optical sight. It allows the user to accurately aim the target at a speed 2-3 times higher than normal. In addition, the gun also has GPS and GLONASS suppression devices, tactical grips and other accessories such as flash lights, laser guidance systems and audio and video recorders. All of these devices are designed to be easily replaced in the event of a breakdown, thereby not affecting combat effectiveness.

Besides dealing with drones, the REX 1 gun can also suppress GSM and Wi-Fi signals in the 5.8 and 2.4 GHz bands. As a result, law enforcement officers can use firearms against improvised explosive devices that are often remotely activated by terrorists via mobile phones. The gun allows to turn off all signals to the device, thereby preventing the explosion from happening.

Not long ago, the Russian Ministry of Defense also announced a gun model to be used against unmanned aerial vehicles. It is clear that the country's defense officials have also seen this as an issue that needs to be taken seriously.
