Nvidia is about to release GeForce 8800 graphics card
Will be available on November 8, Nvidia's upcoming GeForce 8800 (formerly G80) graphics card is designed to fully support Microsoft's DirectX 10 Shader Model 4.0 technology.
GeForce 8800 will have two versions: GeForce 8800 GTX and GeForce 8800 GTS. The specifications of these two GPUs are in turn: number of stream processors: 128 and 96; core clock: 575MHz and 500MHz; Shader motor clock: 1,350MHz and 1,200MHz. Both support SLI technology; 16x full screen mode; HDR technology dynamically 128-bit.
According to Nvidia, with different memory clocks (900MHz instead of 800MHz) and different memory interfaces (384-bit instead of 320-bit), the GeForce 8800 card series will bring different memory bandwidth (86, 4GB / s instead of 64GB / s), and the object surface filtration rate varies (36.8 billion texel (*) instead of 24 billion texel).
Taiwanese graphics card makers say they are finalizing the final preparations to release their own production models along with Nvidia's plans to announce GeForce 8800 cards next week.
(*) Texel : The smallest object mapping unit can be processed. When objects in the image are viewed close, a texel is mapped to one or more screen pixels. When the object is viewed far away, many texel equals the average with a screen pixel.
