Octopus is like an 'alien creature'

American scientists have revealed octopus as an alien creature because of a completely different set of genes than other animals.

Complex and "strange" gene map of octopus

Scientists at the University of Chicago (USA) have studied the octopus's DNA and said the genetic map of the creature is 'strange' . Octopus has a complex gene sequence and has more genes that encode proteins than humans, according to The Mirror on 12.8.

Octopus is like an alien creature with a different genome from other creatures, even mollusks. The octopus's DNA is perfectly arranged, as random cards are systematically recombined in a container, which includes ' jumping genes' that move around the genome.

Dr. Clifton Ragsdale, the head of the research team, said: "Octopus has a large brain and ability to handle sensitive information. We recorded it as the first alien genome."

This unique set of genes has played an important role in the octopus's evolution, more than any other creature, such as the complex nervous system and camouflage ability, Clifton Ragsdale said.

In addition, the tentacles help the octopus move very fast, mobile and capable of handling. Their eyes are fine and sensitive to polarized light, complex camouflage systems that change the color of the skin and body shape. They have 3 hearts and are capable of reproducing severed body parts .

According to Dr. Clifton Ragsdale, although the octopus genome is smaller than humans, they carry more genotypes than humans.
