O-type people are most likely to develop stomach ulcers
Statistics show that about 10% of our population suffers from chronic peptic ulcer disease and is more common in men than women.
According to a study conducted by author Nguyen Duy Thang (Agricultural Hospital), people with blood type O account for the highest rate in stomach ulcers (43.4%), blood group AB has the lowest rate ( 1.9%).
The study was carried out with 53 patients by endoscopy and blood tests. Endoscopic results for each type of stomach disease also show: Blood type O, A, B has the highest rate in gastric ulcer; AB blood group is found only in ulcers.
Doctor Ly Thi My Dung, Head of Gastroenterology (Nguyen Tri Phuong Hospital, Ho Chi Minh City) also said that O people have more stomach diseases than those with other blood groups.
