Outstanding world technical achievements in 2010
Discovery News magazine has voted for the world's most outstanding technical achievements in 2010.
1. The world's largest cruise ship

The cruise ship is considered to be the largest in the world called 'Sea charm' (Allure of the Seas) of Royal Caribbean (USA) launched in Finland and arrived at the Everglades port in Fort Lauderdale city. Florida state (USA) on November 13, 2010.
The Allure of the Sea is the 'twin sister' with the 'Sea Oasis' cruise ship (Oasis of the Seas) that has departed the sea since 2009. 2. The tallest building in the world

Burj Khalifa is 828m high, has 164 floors, surpassing Taipei 101 (Taiwan) building which held the highest building record in the world before (509 m high, 101 floors).
3. The world's fastest high-speed train

The Chinese high speed train CRH-380A is named the world's fastest high-speed train, reaching a speed of 486 km / h during a test run from Shandong province to Anhui province on December 3, 2010, More than 69.4 km / hour compared to the previous test run of this vessel was made in September 2010.
Discovery News said China currently has the world's largest high-speed rail network with a total length of about 7,548 km and by 2020, the country plans to expand the high-speed rail network to 15,999 km.
4. Supersonic rocket

On May 26, 2010, the US Air Force successfully tested the supersonic rocket named X-51A Waverider from B-52 bombers after it took off from Edwards air base in California (USA).
This new-generation rocket is propelled by an ultrasonic propulsion, working more than 3 minutes at a speed of about 6,438 km / h - 6 times the speed of sound - before falling into the Pacific Ocean.
Telegraph newspaper (UK) quoted Charlie Brink - X-51A program manager at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio State (USA): 'Successful launch of X-51A supersonic missile is considered leap from propeller aircraft to jet aircraft after World War II '.
5. The world's fastest supercomputer

On November 2, 2010, China's fastest supercomputer Tianhe-1 , meaning 'Galaxy-1' was introduced at the 2010 International Supercomputing Conference held in Hamburg. (Virtue).
Tianhe-1 performed 2.507 million calculations in 1 second, surpassing the Cray XT5 Jaguar of the US when only 1.75 million billion calculations were performed in 1 second.
