Panda obstructs intestinal obstruction because of emergency surgery
A one-year-old panda in a zoo in the United States must undergo emergency surgery because of a large piece of lemon-sized structure that clogs its intestines.
The one-year-old Bei Bei panda at Smithsonian National Zoo, Washington, USA is recovering from surgery to remove a gut-sized piece of bone, BBC reported on November 26.

Bei Bei had earlier signs of nausea, abdominal pain. He quit eating and slept more than usual. The ultrasound results show that the head of the panda's small intestine is blocked by a large piece of bamboo, so it is designated for emergency surgery.
"Bei Bei's condition has been stable and has a good prognosis. Our mission is to ensure its safety and this requires the cooperation of the panda," said Dennis Kelly, director of the Smithsonian National Zoo. , Washington, said.
Bei Bei will be given water overnight and then switch to soft foods like pears and sweet potatoes.
"I am very proud and would like to thank the management team, veterinarians, animal care workers, health professionals and all those who have supported emergency situations," Kelly said.
