Pandemic flu broke out in Hong Kong
According to Van Hoi, schools across the Hong Kong Special Zone are in high alert, after appearing hundreds of cases of flu-like symptoms from the end of February to now.
My father died shortly after being hospitalized for less than a day. The most recent case (March 11) was Lac Hao Minh, a student at Don Mon Primary School, who died after being hospitalized for half a day with symptoms of cough and fever.
Sources from Hong Kong health authorities confirmed on March 11 that 27 establishments, including schools and hospitals, reported a total of 197 cases of these symptoms. Van Hoi said that on March 12 there were hundreds more children who had to leave school due to the illness.
People in the area are bewildered by the fear of SARS outbreak. In order to reassure public opinion, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region convened an emergency meeting with relevant industries to come up with a solution for the outbreak.
