Hong Kong is the most light-polluted city in the world

This study is based on the never-ending light of neon lights that keep locals sleepless.

Night in Hong Kong is 1,000 times brighter than any European city like Madrid, Los Angeles. Hong Kong, unlike Shanghai, London and Sydney - this city has no special laws to regulate the amount of light pollution.

Light pollution is understood as the amount of strong and prolonged light at night from sources of artificial light. The amount of artificial light in some too much makes us sometimes unable to see the stars in the sky.

'In Hong Kong the level of light pollution has become a serious problem. Some parts of the city are still illuminated during the day, ' said Jason Pang Chen, the research leader. Most people in Hong Kong recommend turning off lights at night to reduce the level of light pollution in this city.
