SpaceShipTwo (SS2) is a future commercial spacecraft manufactured by Virgin Galactic Corporation. The spacecraft consists of the main ship SpaceShipTwo mounted beneath the 43-meter-long wing of the mother ship WhiteKnightTwo.
In this experiment, SS2 was controlled by two Stucky and Clint Nichols pilots at the airport - Mojave universe. 21 seconds after takeoff, SS2 activated the engine to separate from the WhiteKnightTwo mother ship at 21km altitude and move at 1.43 times the speed of sound.
Last April, SpaceShipTwo also had its first test trip at the same location. At that time, SS2 flew about 14km at 1.2 times the speed of sound.
Billionaire Richard Branson, founder of Virgin Galactic Group, said he and his family will be passengers on the first flight of SS2 when it officially goes into operation. There are now more than 600 customers registering to buy tickets at the price of $ 250,000 each.
