According to director Conida Mario Pimentel, the Paulet 1-B rocket was launched from the Punta Lobos science base in Pucusana (south of the capital Lima). It reached a height of 15km on the sea of Pucusana, which shows that Peru is fully capable of launching its own satellite into orbit in 2020.
The Paulet 1-B project is the result of 20 years of work by Peruvian scientists. Pimentel confirmed that the production and successful launch of the missile was an important milestone in Peru's aerospace industry, as it was the first time a device made of 100% Peruvian technology had been launched. public into space.
Pimentel said Peru would improve the original prototype so that in the next seven years they could develop a third-generation missile that could fly 300km high, enough to put a satellite into orbit.
