President Obama called the International Space Station

President Barack Obama made a call to the International Space Station (ISS) to congratulate astronaut Scott Kelly from becoming the first American to stay the longest in the universe.

According to IB Times, the call took place before the Astronomy Night held on October 19 at the White House. This is an event to honor the achievements of science, technology and the universe.

Kelly will also set the record for the longest American in the universe on October 29, surpassing Michael Lopez-Alegria. Currently, he has completed half a year of duties on the ISS station. This mission helps provide information about the impact of long-term flights on the body, which is important for planning the journey to Mars.

President Obama praised him for his work on the ISS station and on many updates on Instagram. The president also asked Kelly about the general feeling after 200 days of living in the universe.

"I broke the record. I feel great, as if I have been here for a long time. I still have a long way to go, but that's not the problem. I'll go Come along to complete the work with all the strength and enthusiasm , " Kelly replied.

President Obama also talked about Astronomical Night and how Kelly evoked interest in teenagers across the United States.

"You know, I'm asking the Space Agency (NASA) to make a trip to Mars and you're part of the process of helping us achieve that goal. I'm really proud of all. what's going on, " Mr. Obama told Kelly.

In his speech at the Astronomical Night, President Obama emphasized the importance of inspiring young people, especially women, to the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Mr. Obama also praised agencies and organizations across the United States that are contributing to promoting a passion for scientific exploration because that is how to ensure future generations of adventurers go further.
