According to Sputnik News, the PAK TA (Perspective Airborne Complex of Transport Aviation), which can fly at supersonic speeds of up to 2,000 km / h, can carry 200 tons of cargo and have a range of 7,000 km.

Russia will produce 80 PAK TA planes by 2024 so that 400 heavy tanks or 900 light armored vehicles can be brought to the battlefield for shorter periods of time.

The project is implemented by Ilyushin Aviation Complex. According to Viktor Livanov, the company's president, the project could be completed by 2030 and specific specifications are still in the process.

The PAK TA project has been underway for several years. The project is to replace the Russian fleet of heavy-duty aircraft, including Antonov An-22 Antei with a capacity of 60 tons and Antonov An-124 Ruslan with a capacity of 120 tons.

The only operational aircraft equivalent to PAK TA is the An-225 Mriya , produced for the Soviet space shuttle Buran program .
