Production of tires from the road
The world's first 'green' tires are made from sugar, which will appear on the market in the next few years.

The world's top tire producers, Goodyear and Michelin, together with Lanxess synthetic rubber, have partnered with industrial biotechnology companies to produce bio-based rubber from sugar. .

According to the C & EN Chemistry Journal, bacterial fermentation is the key to making three bio-rubber compounds, such as hydrocarbons, butyl and butadiene.
The Goodyear tire manufacturer has produced the first liquid hydrocarbon tires, and claims it is researching tires from bio-rubber.
However, these bio-tires will not appear on the road in the next 3-5 years.
