Project charging the phone in a public place

Like many other cities in the world at one time, there were many public telephone stations in the streets of London. But the rapid development of science and technology, especially the revolution in mobile devices, no longer needs them.

From the Solarbox project , these phone stations are re-used to collect power and charge the battery for mobile phones. The red telephone stations will be painted green, on top of a solar panel.

Gizmag reports that it takes 12 minutes to recover 20% of the power for a smartphone. Speed may be faster if the phone is in static mode before charging. Earlier this month, six red cell phones were green on the Tottenham Court Road area, according to the Solarbox project each station could serve 85 people a day.

This project was made by two entrepreneurs Kirsty Kenny and Harold Craston. People can use the charger for the 'cricket' for free. Investors will earn revenue through the ads of the companies displayed on the screen that the owner of the phone will read while waiting to recharge the battery.
