Quick and accurate blood tests with SpinChip
In an effort to shorten the diagnostic test, Stig Morten Borch, a senior scientist at the SINTEF Health Research Center in Norway, has developed a test device (blood, urine, etc.) to give results. Fast, accurate, but the cost is quite "soft".
With the SpinChip device, the blood sample is taken directly from the patient's fingertips and then analyzed through a microcentrifuge chip. Inside the chip, the liquid and solid components of the sample are separated and undergoing analysis without the aid of other technology. SpinChip is also designed to be lightweight, which makes it easy for healthcare workers to carry important laboratory tests, hospital emergency rooms, hospital beds or operating rooms, make it easy for clinicians and promptly treat the patient.
According to doctors, early and accurate diagnosis can be very helpful in treating and predicting complications. Usually, the patient's blood or urine samples only reflect the patient's condition at the time of analysis, but it takes a long time for the laboratory to produce accurate results. Therefore, the birth of SpinChip is important. SINTEF says that from now until 2015, the facility will continue to be improved thanks to funding from the Norwegian Research Council, which promises to deliver significant benefits when it can carry out a variety of rapid analyzes. , simple and reliable.
