R&D is the heart of Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park

Minister of Science and Technology Nguyen Quan emphasized that research and development must be the "heart" of Hoa Lac Hi-tech Park, creating a difference with other technology parks.

This statement was made during a visit to Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park yesterday. Minister Nguyen Quan appreciated the efforts of the park management board and made suggestions to make Hoa Lac equal to regional and international level.

Regarding the importance of Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park, Dr. Nguyen Quan said: "If in 2020 our country becomes a modern-oriented industrial country without a national high-tech zone, it is difficult to fulfill the mission. bringing science and technology into a key driving force in socio-economic development ".

Mr. Quan said that besides promoting education, information technology, Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park should focus on R&D area (research and development).

"R&D is the heart and factor that determines the difference of Hoa Lac High Technology compared to other technology centers that are R&D areas," he stressed.

The Minister said that the scale of the R&D area should be expanded, to show "the heart and key role of Hoa Lac High-Tech Park" , Dr. Quan said.

In the coming time, the Ministry of Science may establish a Science and Technology Department to develop R&D areas and other science and technology fields, and set up enterprises to develop and trade high-tech infrastructure created revenue from science and technology, gradually reduced depending on the state budget.

Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park was approved by the Government on May 23, 2008, built according to the model of national high-tech research and development and application center, including functional areas: technology industry. High, research and deployment, software parks, education and training, downtown, housing, office, high-tech services.

According to the plan, the technical infrastructure of the entire Hoa Lac technology park will be completed in 2015 and this will be the most modern high-tech park in Vietnam as well as in the region.
