2020: Vietnam will have 10 high-tech agricultural zones

In order to contribute to promoting the development of agriculture towards modernization, ensuring food security, national food and increasing export, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 575 / QD-TTg on the approval of the master plan on high-tech agricultural zones and zones up to 2020 and orientations to 2030.

According to the Decision, by 2020, Vietnam will build 10 high-tech agricultural zones, of which 8 have been established by the People's Committees of the provinces and cities directly under the Central Government.

Specifically, in addition to the two high-tech agricultural applications Hau Giang and Phu Yen, which have been approved by the Prime Minister, continue to plan and build 8 hi-tech agricultural zones which have been approved by the Provincial People's Committee decision to establish, including: Thai Nguyen, Quang Ninh, Thanh Hoa, Khanh Hoa, Lam Dong, Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, Can Tho.

Regarding the planning of high-tech agricultural application areas, the Decision clearly states: Areas of coffee production with high technology applications are concentrated in the Central Highlands, Northwest and North Central regions. High-tech tea production areas are concentrated in Thai Nguyen and Lam Dong. Areas of high-tech dragon fruit production are concentrated in Binh Thuan.

Similarly, high- tech vegetable production areas are concentrated in Lao Cai, Hanoi, Hai Phong, Ho Chi Minh City, Lam Dong. High-tech flower production areas are concentrated in Lao Cai, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Lam Dong. Major fruit production areas for export of high-tech applications are concentrated in the Southeast and the Mekong River Delta.

The areas of high-tech dairy farming are concentrated in Son La, Hanoi, Nghe An and Lam Dong. The areas of exotic pig raising with high technology are concentrated in the Red River Delta and the Southeast. The areas of poultry raising with high technology application are concentrated in the Red River Delta, North East, North Central and Mekong River Delta regions.

Areas with high- tech saltwater and brackish water shrimp production , concentrated in the Red River Delta, North Central Coast, South Central Coast, Southeast and Mekong River Delta.

Next, according to the orientation towards 2030, the Prime Minister requests ministers, heads of ministerial-level agencies, heads of government-attached agencies, and presidents of People's Committees of provinces and cities to complete construction. to build and put into use and effectively operate 10 established high-tech agricultural zones under the master plan.

At the same time, the leaders of the concerned ministries and branches must also study the planning of hi-tech agricultural zones in the provinces of Lao Cai, Phu Tho, Son La, Hanoi, Hai Phong, Nam Dinh and Nghe An. , Ha Tinh, Quang Ngai, Dak Nong, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Tien Giang and other provinces.
