Robot cleaning pool

This robot can replace scourers at a depth of 3 m of the pool; clean dirt, moss, algae stuck on the floor, slots and edge of the lake and all kinds of garbage .

As recommended by the Ho Chi Minh City Preventive Medicine Center, the risk of spreading disease in the pool water is not guaranteed to be very high. Therefore, in addition to changing water, the cleaning of the pool should be focused. In particular, public swimming pools should be cleaned daily to maintain water quality within a hygienic limit. In addition, algae and moss attach to the walls and floor of the pool must also be removed.

Remove dust

This is the requirement, but currently in most swimming pools, cleaning is only done by hand, so even though it is labor intensive, the level of cleanliness is not guaranteed. According to a representative of Dam Sen Water Park (Ho Chi Minh City), there are 7 lakes with a total area of nearly 10,000 m2 and cleaning jobs by using manual labor to clean the lake by manual method. In areas of deep water about 2.4 m, there must be divers to clean up so it is quite hard.

From the above reality, Master Pham Xuan Vu and engineer Tran Van Thanh, Lac Hong University Department of Electrical Engineering (Dong Nai), have conducted research, research and calculation to find cost-effective and effective plans. most to clean the pool. After 6 months of manufacturing, robots cleaning the pool were born. Robot size 40 cm x 60 cm, 25 cm high, weighs 18 kg, the frame is designed in stainless steel. The wheeled robot acts as a crawler assembly, making it easy to navigate and navigate. The suction and sweeping section is designed by rotary brush method. Brushes are plastic fibers attached to the shaft. Garbage collection and suction parts include water pump engines, aluminum garbage containers, and cloth filters. This filter bag can filter garbage up to 0.5 µm.

' Not only cleaning the pool, small impurities like dust in the lake are also sucked into the filter bag and cleaned. This is the outstanding advantage of robots compared to the use of ordinary scourers ' - Master Pham Xuan Vu said.

Flexible in water environment

The robot operates based on the principle of suction and push. Dirty water and rubbish are sucked into the robot's lap by the pump motor, the garbage is kept in the robot body thanks to the garbage filter bag, water is pushed out as the operating principle of the vacuum cleaner. Thus, all kinds of algae, algae cling under the floor, the slots and edges of the lake and all kinds of garbage, impurities, sand and gravel at the bottom of the lake are all cleaned up. The robot can work at a depth of 3 m.

Because the robot moves simply, the number of motors is low so the control circuit is simple. The research team has chosen the design of control system using relay combination processor. Robot products can operate flexibly in immersion environment, clean the pool with a capacity of about 5 m 2 / min. Calculated, with the average area of a public pool currently about 300 m 2 , this robot only works within 1 hour and is done.

Master Vu added that after he successfully built the robot in June 2009, he and his colleagues are now studying to make robots of small size, about 30 cm x 50 cm, 20 cm high, heavy under 7 kg and can be operated according to the pre-set program, can climb into the pool to clean the smallest corners and slots.

' We want to finish when the user just needs to hold the robot and drop it into the lake late at night when the pool stops serving customers and the next morning just bring the robot into storage while the pool is completely clean ' - Vu added.
